Romantic suspense author Skye McNeil joins me today and weโre chatting about her new book, Rubble. The third novel in her Macha MC series.
Bio:
Skye McNeil began writing at the age of seventeen and has been lost in a love affair ever since. During the day, she moonlights as a paralegal at a law firm favoring criminal law.
Skye enjoys writing romantic suspense and contemporary romance novels that leave readers wanting more and falling in love over and over. Her books range from sweet and sassy to steamy and sultry.
Her constant writing companions are two cats and two dogs. When sheโs not writing, Skye enjoys spending time with family, photography, volleyball, traveling, and curling up with a cup of coffee and reading.
Please tell us about your current release.

Jupiter Quinn is on the run from an abusive relationship. Finding shelter in Macha MC, her goal is to keep her head down until the divorce is finalized. What Jupiter doesnโt expect is to fall for the clubโs toughest man who also happens to be a former MMA fighter.
Rubble Hardy is Machaโs sergeant at arms and enforcer for the club. He doesnโt date. Never has and never will. Women are trouble and heโs not about to let down his guard. But when Jupiter Quinn walks through the club doors, his heart shifts, and the powerful desire to protect her only outweighs his feelings.
When Jupiterโs past collides with her newfound future, sheโs forced to either flee or face the danger.
Can Rubble keep her safe, or will they tap out?
What inspired you to write this book?
I wanted to share my own experiences combined with fiction to give hope to women who are in abusive relationships. This was probably the toughest book Iโve written since it triggered my own memories.
Excerpt from Rubble:
โEverything all right?โ
Squeaking, she jumped backwards and nearly bumped into a nymph with a tray full of beer. Jupiter placed a hand on her chest and lifted her gaze to the intruder. โRubble.โ
She instantly cursed how out of breath she must sound. It happened every time she looked into his mismatched gaze. One blue, one green, his eyes were spellbinding, and she was instantly lost in them.
Rubbleโs brows knit together. โSorry. Didnโt mean to scare you.โ
โYou didnโt.โ Jupiter shoved the phone into her back pocket. โI mean, you did but I donโt mind. Not when itโs you.โ She slapped a hand over her mouth. โShit, I didnโt mean toโฆ.โ She couldnโt finish the thought.
A flicker of lust crossed Rubbleโs face and Jupiterโs breath caught in her throat. She couldnโt remember a time when a good man had looked at her like that. But Rubble wasnโt good. He wasnโt bad either. He was an MC biker. They practically had warning signs tattooed on their foreheads. He was bad news, but she couldnโt resist. Not after years of being discarded at any given moment.
A whoop of laughter cut the tension and Jupiter looked away. Staying here was reckless, especially with the way her stomach filled with butterflies whenever Rubble was near.
โDonโt do that.โ
Jupiter met his eyes. โDo what?โ
โAct all shy right after saying something that any man in here would love to hear from that pretty mouth of yours.โ
What exciting story are you working on next?
My next story is the first of a new MC series, Twisted Brotherhood MC. Iโm extremely excited to start this darker version of a motorcycle club. The first story will be focused on the club president, Grave Robber.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I wrote my first full-length novel at 17 years old, but I donโt think I considered myself a writer until I was first published back in 2014.
Do you write full-time? If so, what’s your work day like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
I wish writing was my full-time job. Someday, perhaps! For now, I work full-time as a paralegal at a law firm. As to when I find time to writeโฆsometimes at work and sometimes at home. I try to write when the inspiration hits me.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
Iโd say my most interesting writing quirk is that I need some kind of background noise when Iโm writing. Usually itโs music or a movie/television show.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a veterinarian. I love animals, especially dogs and cats.
Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
Thanks so much for reading! Hope to talk to you soon!
