Please tell us about your current release.
I share my personal plans regarding a very sensitive subject to inspire the reader to write Their Final Wishes for those who will be left behind to plan. I approach it with various scenarios. It’s a novella with less than 30 pages. My intention is to turn a sensitive subject into a subject that can be approached with some comfort.
What inspired you to write this book?
This book was divinely inspired, and I constantly saw people and how they were affected with one question – What Do I Do?
Excerpt from It’s Not About Me, It’s About Them:
How ironic that “It’s Not About Me It’s About Them” was playing before my very eyes and help ease the process of planning.
What exciting story are you working on next?
Currently, I am working on creating the live story of my radio station wgmlb which paints a picture of much we all of in common with the various programs. This was also an inspiration taking from the cover of the book. I have a couple of other books pending but nothing is copywritten so I can only share a little.
Writing life related:
My book effects all human beings regardless of race, age, or religious beliefs.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
In the 10th grade during Ms. Cathy’s English Class – I considered myself as someone who likes to write, not sure if then I was considered a writer. I just knew that was an easy grade and also a way to put my thoughts on paper which was easy to do.
Do you write full-time? If so, what’s your work day like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
I am not a full-time writer. I work 9 hours a day and once I log off, I run my radio stations, learn instruments, and work on other business endeavors. I find time to right because I set the alarm clock on my watch because I have to keep myself on a schedule.
Fun related:
I really enjoy playing old records, literally, I kept all of my albums in great condition. Listening to my albums takes me into a perfect world for a little while. My friends are always calling me at the last minute asking for suggestions for songs because they have to sing somewhere.
I also collect plastic cups with logos. I have more than 600. I will buy a cup before I buy food especially when I’m traveling.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
My writing quirk is that I don’t write in any particular order. As I think I write and then assemble everything later. I may grab a napkin, phone, cardboard, whatever is near me at that time. Thank goodness for cut and paste.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a music teacher, physical education teacher, TV camera woman, and a radio disc jockey.
Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
Yes, I like to play the one-word game. One of my pastors said, “You should be able to develop a sermon out of any word.” I apply that approach to life especially when speaking to someone who “just needs a listening ear.”
