Bio:
Dave is an elder with his church Calvary Chapel Life in Huntington Beach, California, where he directs their prayer, daily devotion, and usher ministries. Dave is also a prior College Math Instructor, teaching for Westwood College, University of Redlands. and University of LaVerne.

Welcome, Dave. What inspired you to write this book?
I learned from my church experience and a survey by the American Bible Society in February, 2017 that only a small percentage of Christians regularly read the Bible on their own.

Excerpt from A Heart for the Bible:
A quote by General Douglas McArthur, “Believe me sir, never a night goes by, be I ever so tired, but I read the Word of God before I go to bed.”

What exciting project are you working on next?
I have been conducting a podcast on reading the Bible called “A Love For the Bible” for well over two years.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I was encouraged as a writer from reading positive reviews from my readers. In fact, a couple readers even considered A Heart for the Bible ‘life changing.’ Their comments included, ‘I got into reading the Bible everyday which changed my life,’ and ‘I was changed by using the Heart for the Bible as a guide.’

Do you write full-time? If so, what’s your workday like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
My writing is now part time. Being retired, I now play tennis three times a week and also occasionally tennis officiate for the USTA.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a professional baseball player. While I never achieved that dream, I did play tennis on the Cal. State Fullerton tennis team.

Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
This is my second book authored, the first being a guided journal to read the Bible in a year called, A Path Through the Bible. It’s now in its second edition.
