Son of Asmodeus is the first book in the Heaven and Hell Series. This book introduces a lone demon hunter names John Sullivan, also known as Sully. It’s set in modern day Los Angeles but definitely has a lot of demons!
What inspired you to write this book?
I love writing supernatural thrillers, so this is definitely a favorite of mine. Demons and angels are two that have always fascinated me in the supernatural world.
Excerpt from Son of Asmodeus:
John waved the blade around, either tempting the demon to play or making him angry. Either way, he made his point. He was the demon hunter. In the end, the demon would be dead. Life was beautiful when it went according to his plan, but this time it didn’t.
The demon played and moved to get closer to John. John shifted in place, braced the weight of his legs against the pavement, and stood firm. The demon shoved him, though John did not move or lose his balance, but dropped the blade. The demon shoved him again, to no avail. John grabbed his wrist and bent it backward till he heard a loud crack. The demon screamed in pain and moved slightly away from John. Throwing a punch, his fist connected with the demon’s face. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. Well done, he thought. John landed a round kick against the abdomen of the demon. He saw the demon panting, barreling over in defeat, but the demon still stood on his feet. Damnit, he thought. This son of a bitch is still standing. The demon did not move, so he retrieved the blade, grabbed the demon by the hair, and made him look at the blade up close and personal.
“How did you get that blade? Only certain demons have a blade like that. Did you kill one of my brothers, hunter?”
John shook his head. As he showed the blade’s symbols to the demon, his other hand pushed down on the demon’s shoulder. Using all his strength to prevent the demon from retreating or taking another blow toward him, he angled the blade so that the demon could read the words on the hilt. The hilt didn’t just display the symbols of Hell, but it read, ‘Asmodeus.’ The demon froze in his spot and just stared at John.
“You are the heir to Asmodeus AND the demon hunter? Asteroth will not like this.”
What exciting project are you working on next?
I am finishing Book Four: Rise of the Hunter in my Blood Prophecy series, Working on Book Two in the Heaven and Hell Series and a standalone called The Devil Inside Me. I tend to write 3-4 books at a given time.
While I am writing, Son of Asmodues is also being made into an indie movie this year! It is called Demon Destroyer: Son of Asmodeus. Filming starts in May 2023!
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
The minute I wrote my first story on paper and amazed my fourth grade teacher. After she read it, she told me that I was going to be a writer.
Do you write full-time? If so, what’s your workday like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
I work in IT during the day, writer by night. I love writing and the creativity it always me to have. I have disciplined myself to write at least 2 hours a day, but most of the time it is longer than that.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I have so many of them! I think one that stands out is that I write to loud music.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was smaller, I wanted to be an astronaut. Mission Specialist so that I could conduct experiments on the shuttle.
Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
I love hearing from my readers. I will always respond to them as well. To me, it’s the highlight of everything.
