What inspired you to write this book?
Having recently gone through a divorce and being a single woman in her 40’s, I wanted to share some self-help advice and hopefully help other women who have gone through the same situation.
After a breakup, the one big question that commonly plagues us is What did I do wrong?
The end of a relationship is a period rife with self-doubt and self-loathing and one of the things you forget to take care of is ‘yourself’. Eventually you will realise how much better off you are without them in your life and be better equipped for relationships in the future.
This book is about ways to self-love again after a relationship has ended. It’s about discovering who you are, what you want and leaving the past behind and creating a better life for yourself.
What exciting story are you working on next?
Am currently in the middle of writing my 3rd book which is based around what is was like for women in Regency Britain. The Regency period was a social and cultural development seen by some as the greatest and glorious age in British history. Covering all types of women from writers, actresses, women who went from rags to riches, those who made a difference but also the affairs and scandals. So the real like Bridgertons.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I travelled the world from a young age and would always write a journal in every country I visited. Was only when Covid hit and we went into lockdown that I decided I wanted to self-publish my travel journals. Having completed the first one I realized that maybe not everyone would want to read. From that point I started to get other ideas of what I could write about and having researched a gap in the market my first book Extraordinary Women in History was released. Am still learning and growing but I definitely have the writing bug now.
Do you write full-time? If so, what’s your work day like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
Although I am not a full-time writer I do try and do an hour a day in the week and also work on writing at weekends. My day job is Music Marketing. It definitely helps having a marketing background for my books, from the creative side through to marketing the right audiences.
What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I get a lot of my inspiration and ideas when I am walking the dog and will have to write things down on my phone whilst out otherwise will forget.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A fishmonger. I loved the feel of slimy fish. Weird I know.
Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
‘Let your ideas and thoughts give you inspiration. All creativity comes from your imagination – you first imagine and then you create. Catherine Pulsifer
