Bio:
Gladys’ mother always carried a Harlequin Romance with her, instilling a love of books from a young age. A third-grade field trip, along with an exceptional English teacher, inspired Gladys to begin writing. It wasn’t until her early forties, though, that she became published.

The ideas for her books often come from vivid dreams. Gladys is a total pantser, choosing to write plot twists as they come to her. She writes in several romance subgenres and the joy of her books is the mystery surrounding what might happen next.

When she’s not up to devious pursuits, like shooting a character, you’ll find her curled up with a book next to her dog, watching TV with her better half, or engaging in random water gun fights with her daughter and the neighborhood kids.

Welcome, Gladys. Please tell us about your current release.
Kasie’s meddling friend sets her up with an online dating profile to get her back in the game. Declan is a lonely firefighter who sees the profile and messages her.

Things are looking steamy when disaster strikes. Will Declan choke on the secrets he’s keeping? Can Kassie overcome her past and help him without losing a piece of herself?

What inspired you to write this book?
I was inspired by my own wacky love story. Hint: both have a drunk lawnmower photo, online profiles, and missed opportunities.

Excerpt from Blinded by Love:
Excerpt from Declan:

“Declan went on a date and called me from in front of her apartment.” There was a hushed conversation that I only caught bits and pieces of, mainly hugged, and thought he was gay. Fuck my life, I thought as I drove down the long straight-away leading out of her apartment complex. “Are you still there?”

“Of course, I’m still here. Who else am I going to call Spencer?” I asked sarcastically. “I’m not even sure the boy’s balls have dropped yet.”

Sadly, there was no one else I could call for love advice outside the guys from the firehouse and it made me miss my mom that much more. Hell, she’d probably be calling Kassie herself, asking what colors she wanted for the baby blanket.

“He is eighteen,” Webster said pulling me from my melancholy. “It’s always the quiet ones you have to watch out for.”

I snorted. “Do you remember that call we went on where there was an eighty-year-old dude in leather that had lost the keys to his handcuffs?”

He chuckled. “Don’t remind me, and I mean that literally. I’m still not fully recovered, and that was two years ago.” There was silence on the other end of the line as I drove under the overpass. The nothingness went on for long enough that I wondered if we’d gotten disconnected when he snapped his fingers. “Call her back right now and ingeminate the date tomorrow.”

“Do what with the date?”

“Repeat the date.” He huffed an exasperated sigh. “You didn’t make it to the movies, right?”

“Webster you’re a genius!”

“And Declan. This time kiss the girl, so she doesn’t have to ask if you’re a homosexual.”

“She only asked me that because I admitted to watching every episode of Sex and The City.” I hit my head against the back of the seat. “Never mind, I just heard myself, I am an idiot.”

What exciting story are you working on next?
I’m writing the last installment in the Order Bound Series, Unbroken. Werewolves, vampires, and crafty humans collide in this paranormal romance series. Expect it to be darker than the previous two, with lots of twists and turns that bring everything to an exciting conclusion.

When did you first consider yourself a writer?
I first considered myself a writer when I had my first piece published, even though it was only a short piece for a Christmas Anthology.

Do you write full-time? If so, what’s your work day like? If not, what do you do other than write and how do you find time to write?
I’m a full-time mother and wife first, with the writing gig being second. While my daughter is in school, I write like a fiend so I can spend time with her in the afternoons. Sometimes after everyone goes to bed, I write or work on marketing ideas.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I’m not sure if it’s a quirk, but you should always expect something different with each story. Either characters that shouldn’t fit, plot twists, or a new take on things such as the realms of heaven and hell.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Ironically, a writer.

Anything additional you want to share with the readers?
I love to hear from readers. It makes my day knowing that you escaped with me into a fantasy world for a little while and had a blast.
